An Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) is a precise description of the type of company that gets the most value from your product and is most likely to buy and retain. It goes beyond a broad market segment to name the firmographics, the specific problem, the urgency, and the trigger events that signal a company is ready to buy now rather than someday.

A sharp ICP is the foundation of repeatable sales. It tells reps which opportunities to pursue and which to walk away from, keeps the pipeline honest, and makes qualification, messaging and forecasting more reliable. A vague ICP is one of the most common reasons win rate falls as a team scales beyond founder-led selling.
